Abstract
RISE OF MUSLIM COMMUNALISM IN INDIA AND MUSLIM LEAGUE
Dr. Manoj Singh Yadav
Volume: 6 Issue: 1 2016
Abstract:
Until the first half of the 19th century, there was considerable goodwill between Hindus and Muslims in India. They lived together in harmony and fought shoulder to shoulder against the British during the 1857 uprising. Bahadur Shah Zafar was considered the emperor of all India, but for various reasons, communal sentiment began to grow in India from the latter half of the 19th century. This also affected Indian politics, resulting in the partition of India. Many factors were responsible for the rise of communalism in Indian politics.
