Abstract:
The literal meaning of the word Dalit is one who is oppressed and abused, ill-treated, exploited, oppressed, persecuted, neglected, disgusted, discouraged, etc. In modern Hindi literature, litterateurs have created a new form of discourse, under which Dalit literature has been given a wide spectrum of contemplation. Dalit discourse refers to the literature in which Dalits themselves have shaped their suffering, the reality that Dalits have experienced in their struggle for life- Dalit discourse is the discourse of his expression. It is not art for art, but it is a discussion of life and the vitality of life. The complete depiction of Dalit consciousness is contained in Dalit literature. It is related to cultural rites and historical background. Basically the caste division that has happened in Indian society on the basis of Varna system, it is completely based on inequality, domination and exploitation. Dalit is not a homogeneous society; it has many layers. Dalit consciousness has a major role behind Dalit literature because it is from Dalit consciousness that Dalit self-respect awakens. This literature was first given the name of Dalit literature by Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar. Their wonderful thinking is the result of consciousness that Dalit literature has become a major stream. In modern terms, literature is the ultrasound of society. It is the work of literature to highlight social issues. Dalit literature is as ancient as Hindi literature. Dalit litterateurs started creating literature to record the presence of society and their status to eradicate this untouchability.
