Abstract:
Shri Jaishankar Prasad, who has contributed the most to the all-round development of modern Hindi literature, holds an important place in Indian poetry. Prasad ji's all-round talent reflects an unprecedented blend of all the qualities of a poet, playwright, storyteller, novelist, critic, essayist, philosopher, and historian. Prasad ji is credited with liberating Hindi literature from the dullness of didacticism, narrative and idealism and providing it with the beauty of love, the tenderness and subtlety of emotionality, charm and the serious but intellectual role of philosophy.
