A Quantitative Study of the Relationship Between Cultivated Area and Crop Productivity in Muzaffarpur District

Abstract:
The objective of this article is to analyze the relationship between the area of cultivable land and crop productivity in Muzaffarpur district of North Bihar. In this study, an attempt has been made to examine whether the productivity of agricultural crops increases or decreases with the increase in the area of agriculture. It has also been tried to know what kind of relationship exists between the area of agriculture and crop productivity. This study compares the productivity of major food crops like rice, wheat and maize and also examines the extent to which the productivity of agricultural crops influences social and economic impacts. This study, using secondary data, elucidates the nature, direction and policy implications of the relationship between agricultural area and productivity.
