Abstract:
This study analyzes the relationships between non-governmental organizations (NGOs), peri-urban agriculture, and survival strategies among poor households in the green belt of Kananga, Democratic Republic of the Congo. In a context characterized by low household incomes, limited access to stable employment, growing food needs, and difficulties in accessing productive resources, peri-urban agriculture represents a concrete response to the everyday challenges faced by many families. It enables households to produce food, generate additional income, and maintain their livelihoods.
