STUDY ON MEAN 6MWD IN INDIANS AND THE WESTERN POPULATION

Abstract:

250 college going students recruited from Delhi/NCR between the age range of 20- 25 years of age who met the inclusion criteria and whose informed consent has been obtained were instructed to perform 6MWT under supervision and the data was recorded. The Participants with any cardiopulmonary disease, chronic respiratory disease, and orthopedic anomaly affecting the walk, neurological deficit, psychological or cognitive deficits were excluded. The participants were prepared by instructions on comfortable clothing to be worn, appropriate shoes for walking, a light meal is acceptable before early morning or early afternoon tests, and person should not have exercised vigorously within 2 hours of beginning the test
